Exercises are often (in fact almost always) an integral part of most physiotherapy protocols, and they go-together, with manual/’hands-on’ treatment, like hammers & nails, brushes & paint, or aiming & shooting’ – basically, one’s no use without the other!
There are many reasons why physiotherapy treatment might not be working, but a very common one is non, or incorrect, performance of the recommended exercises.
Think of physiotherapy like mending a shoe sole:
- Manual Therapy is 'correctly preparing the surfaces and applying the glue'
- Exercises are accurately the putting the two surfaces together and holding them in place
