The importance of daily movement for longevity

These days, many jobs and tasks are made far more convenient to attempt, and much easier to perform, by the almost limitless range of gadgets and aids available to use when attempting such activities. However, they’re not always the most conducive towards, or best of help in, maintaining our bodies in good shape.

For example, the use of low-level, easy-to-reach shelves, big-handled lever-taps and all manner of other household devices in many residential &/or elderly care homes, means that many of the occupants rarely, if ever, put their limbs through their ‘full range of motion’, or use more than 50% of their muscle strength to complete any tasks.

As the Physiotherapy mantra goes, "If you don't use it, you lose it!"
